Insurance - Memo C

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT
Be sure to purchase your insurance well in advance (at least 6 weeks) of your event, especially during hurricane season (June - November.) Wedsafe will not write policies for Georgia while any tropical storms or hurricanes are present in the Southeast or heading in that direction. Even though storms rarely cause any damage in Savannah, postponing the purchase of insurance until a few weeks before your event when a storm may be in or heading toward the area could present you with a serious obstacle, as the Museum CANNOT hold an event for which there is no insurance.

Addendum to Wedsafe Certificate of Insurance sample sheet: The attached sample of a Wedsafe Certificate of Insurance sheet contains contact information in the upper left hand corner. It is provided as a courtesy. Wedsafe has our basic insurance requirements on file, so if you tell them that your event is at Ships of the Sea, they know what policy to draw up for you (phone: 877-723-3933 or www.wedsafe.com). Wedsafe also includes "Host Liquor Provided" coverage in their policy, which provides an extra layer of protection and enables you to serve beer and wine yourself should you wish to do so. As of October 2009, a basic Websafe policy with "Host Liquor Provided" coverage is $195.00.

While you must provide us with a certificate of insurance coverage, you do not need to purchase it from Wedsafe.
